Domain privacy
When a domain is registered, the registry records who owns it, and many registries publish those details in the public WHOIS directory. WHOIS privacy replaces your name, address and phone number with generic contact details, which keeps spam and unwanted calls away. It is included free, and switched on for every domain whose registry allows it. Some registries, including the .uk registry, already hide personal details by default.
